Free online guitar tuner

Pluck one string at a time and the tuner shows the nearest string, and whether it is too high or too low, in cents (hundredths of a semitone).

It listens through your microphone only while it is switched on. The sound is analysed on your device; nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Free, no sign-up, works on phones. Nothing you play is recorded.

Guitar tuner

Standard tuning, low to high: E A D G B E. Pluck one string at a time. Sound is checked on this device only; nothing is recorded or sent.

How to use it

  • Press Start tuner and allow the microphone when your browser asks.
  • Standard tuning from the thickest string to the thinnest: E2, A2, D3, G3, B3, E4.
  • Turn the tuning peg slowly: tighten if the note is too low, loosen if it is too high, until it shows In tune.
  • A quiet room works best. For other instruments, the reference pitch tool plays a steady note to tune to.
