Free online metronome
A metronome clicks a steady beat so you can keep time and practise a passage slowly before building up speed. This one runs in your browser on a phone or computer, with no app and no sign-up.
The beat is timed on your device's audio clock, so it stays even. Nothing is recorded.
Free, no sign-up, works on phones. Nothing you play is recorded.

Tempo ladder
Start slow. Each time you play the passage cleanly, press "Clean" and the metronome steps up one rung. If it falls apart, step back one rung and try again.
How to use it
- Choose a speed with the slider or the minus 5 and plus 5 buttons, or tap the Tap tempo button in time with the music.
- Pick beats per bar (2, 3, 4 or 6) and whether the first beat is accented.
- Clicks per beat adds quavers (2), triplets (3) or semiquavers (4) between the beats.
- Tempo ladder: set a goal speed and a step. Each time you play the passage cleanly, press Clean and the metronome moves up one step.
- On a computer, the space bar starts and stops it.
